Chiang Mai is incredible! There is such a laid back vibe here, it is super cheap and has the tranquility of it's mountainous surroundings. We're only had three night's here and it was just not enough! Yesterday was one of the greatest days of my life. We spent the full day at the Elephant nature park. A reserve that cares for elephants that have been injured and mistreated by poachers or in animal circuses. We got to feed them, bathe them in the river and walk with them in their natural surroundings for hours. It was truly inspirational seeing the work that the carers do to protect these amazing animals and heart wrenching to see what they had been through. We felt privileged to assist them for the day. As well as the elephants, the reserve also takes care of over 400 dogs and cats and relies on donations and visitor admissions to fund the project. We will definitely make a return here!
As well as our day with the elephants, we are now professionals in cooking thai food, or so we think! We had a really fun day with Basil cooking school where we learnt how to make several different thai dishes. Soups, curry pastes, pad thai, noodles, stir fry, fresh spring rolls, banana fritters and sticky rice and we even came away with our very own recipe books so we can continue being thai chefs back in sunny
London!
