A weekend in Bath

It was frustrating me that I live so close to Bath and quite often zoom passed in the rush of commuting down the M4 corridor! So we decided to make a weekend away of it and it was great! Luckily it was coming to the end of the summer holidays so it wasn't half as busy as we thought it would be and it made for a lovely relaxing weekend. We spent the day at the open air pool in the Thermae Bath Spa and while it was enjoyable and fast becoming a renowned attraction to visit in Bath, my favorite was our evening torch lit tour of the Roman Baths. What an incredible piece of architecture and the knowledge of the historians there is just ore inspiring. Even though we were in a guided tour the setting was really romantic and we followed it up with a beautiful three course meal at the Roman Kitchen Restaurant in the ancient square adjacent to the Baths. I'm really glad we made the effort to go and it didn't break the bank either. So if your looking for a little escape from the rat race, give Bath a try.
