The Bigger Picture

Finally home safe and despite it being my birthday, sadly it's not a happy one. Last night was absolutely terrifying, hearing of all the horrific incidents and fearing the unknown whilst stuck on a tube. Despite the chaos I can honestly say that there was an overwhelming feeling of love in London that I've never felt before. The gentle smiles and looks of reassurance from every passer by on every pavement and platform made me feel a warmth and safety that London has never given me before. My gratitude to our emergency services, who risk their own life to keep us safe, is endless.Today I entered London tunnel visioned, as usual and ready to not be bothered by anyone! I left just a few hours later having shared jokes with strangers at a time where we all needed a comforting friend. Tonight's atrocities are devastating but again more than ever I feel that as a country we can stand together. London, Newcastle, Great Britain, your are all a part of me and we will not run! we stand together! I won't be celebrating today but looking at the bigger picture, my evening could have ended a lot worse and i'm fortunate to be home safe, with the people I love beside me.
